Queen's Birthday Dinner 2015

Her Majesty The Queen’s official Birthday on Saturday 16 June 2015 was celebrated by the Branch holding a ‘Queens Birthday Dinner’ in the club that same evening. Thirty members and guests enjoyed an excellent 3 course meal of a Greek Salad, followed by Lamb Shanks, Banoffee Pie, and ending with port, coffee and mints. This was prepared by our wonderful Steward Sue, and served by her team of helpers.
A ‘Welcome’ talk was given by our Chairman Paul ‘Riggo’ Richardson who briefly gave us some fascinating details from her long Reign, and some amusing anecdotes from the life of Prince Phillip, who is of course our Captain General.
Grace was given by our MC for the evening Bob Guest, and the toasts were, Her Majesty the Queen, proposed by ‘Riggo’, The Captain General, proposed by Mike Conn, The Royal Marines, proposed by Anita Walton, and Absent Friends, proposed by Gary Moore.
An excellent evening to celebrate the 89th Birthday of our Monarch, who was born on the 21st April 1926.
Our thanks to all involved in the Dinner and we hope that this will become a regular event in the life of our Branch.
