Sunday the 30th September 2012 saw Deal Royal Marines Association and Club re Dedicate their new Standard and lay up the old Standard on Walmer Green at the end of the last concert on the Memorial Bandstand. The event took the format of a parade of Standards from the RNA and RMA Thanet Branches, also Fifteen veterans from all of the Armed Services .
The Old Standard was carried by Jimmy Green of the Green Beret Association and the New Standard by Bob Davies Deal RMA.
A review of the parade was conducted by LT COL Graham Hoskins ex Principal Director of Music of the Royal Marines Band Service, also the service was conducted by Lay Minister Paul Henderson and music provided by the Betteshanger Colliery Band.
Chairman of the RMA Paul Richardson said ,' this was a very fitting event holding it on the last concert of the season, also it showed the close relationship between the RMA and the Memorial Bandstand. Thanks must be given to Major John Perkins and his Commitee for all their support, and allowing us to hold the event at the end of the concert.'
