Saturday 15th June saw the 6th Cliff Top Challenge (finishing area) take place on Walmer Green. Runners had begun their 55 mile run at 2 am in Hastings and then start points were staggered along the coast with the shortest being a 5K run. They were all timed to arrive at the end point during the afternoon. Entertainment was provided by the Rock Choir and then there was further live music. It was a very successful day for the Breast Cancer Charity.
The Deal RMA Branch and Club provided the use of it's facilties and had the opportunity to raise money for the Royal Marines Charity by operating the wristband system, £468 was raised and we thank all our members for giving freely to the charity. The team of volunteers that manned the door are shown in the slideshow. We didn't charge the runners, who had already given their time and money to enter the challenge but it was very humbling to find that many (those who had cash on them) insisted on paying anyway.
The Club was busy all day and the bar staff worked very hard. Thanks to everyone who helped in the RMA side of things and a big congratulations to the Rashbrook Family (also part of the Corps Family) who worked so hard to achieve this massive success yet again.
