2017 1664 Challenge Run

On the morning of Saturday 17 June the Branch and club were proud to support on Walmer Green a team taking part in the ‘Royal Marines 1664 Challenge Run,’ with the teams aiming to run a total of 1664 miles, running 16.64 miles every day for 100 days. The run, which started in Cornwall will, over the course of the challenge, run the length of the UK raising funds for the Royal Marines Charity.

On a lovely summers day, and after a short display by a contingent from the Corps of Drums’ they were cheered on their way by a good turn out of members and locals, and supported by our Branch and GBA Standards carried by ‘Dusty’ and ‘Timber’.

On completion of the run the runners returned to the club for a social afternoon.
